JOB DESCRIPTION
Library & Research Services

Basic Function:
Manages and develops library and research services for the International University of Monaco.
Handles purchasing, cataloguing and invoicing of books, journals, online services and other materials
Manages the IUM bookshop, purchasing and selling books to students. Teaches research skills to students.
Assists students and professors in their research activities

Duties / Responsibilities:
Library and Research Services
Maintaining, developing and improving the university library and research services
Providing a proactive service, gathering information on library and research resources needed for students and faculty.
Purchasing books, journals and other materials and acquisition processing
Cataloguing the stock.
Managing journals.
Controlling the library budget - processing supplier invoices, managing records and accounts associated with them.
Managing the library catalogue.
Guiding students, faculty and visitors in locating material in the library
Managing circulation: loans, renewals, reservations, overdues
Organizing document delivery
Providing research support to students and faculty
Negotiating with suppliers
Liaising with faculty on purchase of new resources
Proactively encouraging the use of library and research resources in student assignments

Bookshop
Purchasing textbooks for sale to students
Managing the bookshop accounts – processing invoices, tracking sales, managing cash flow
Selling books to students
Maintaining relationships with academic publishers’ sales representatives and negotiating with them.
Liaising with the Directors of Undergraduate and Graduate Programs to ensure the bookshop stock is sufficient for the courses and students each semester.
